The Halston Aparthotel in Carlisle has been named the best self-catering provider at the 15th Cumbria Tourism Awards, held last night at Cartmel Racecourse, fighting competition from renowned Lake District holiday providers.
The black-tie event saw hundreds of businesses celebrate another successful year for Cumbria’s £2.72 billion tourism industry.
Presented by comedian and media professional, Cally Beaton, The Halston were presented with Self-Catering Provider of the Year 2017, sponsored by Out of Eden at the prestigious awards event.
Dominique Harrison, Co-owner of The Halston says: “Cumbria and the Lake District is renowned for its quality self-catering holiday accommodation so we’re thrilled the The Halston in Carlisle has been recognised by the industry to win Self-Catering Provider of the Year and that after only three years of trading our hard work has paid off.
The team at The Halston work immensely hard to provide the luxury experience which customers have come to expect from a city centre stay. We’re now excited to expand our portfolio with the new The Halston Townhouses opening in the coming months and the expansion of the existing property into the former Lonsdale Cinema later in the year.”
Earlier this year, The Halston was also the first accommodation provider in Carlisle to be awarded Quality Cumbria’s ‘Superior’ status, an award only given to properties of exceptional quality.
The Halston weren’t the only Carlisle business successful at last night’s awards, Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery scooped the award for Large Visitor Attraction of the Year.
