What’s On This Easter

Spring has sprung, the daffodils are in bloom and you can’t move for chocolate eggs in the shops. Aside from staying home and gorging on mini eggs and hot cross buns (also a fabulous plan), there’s lots to see and do this Easter in and around Carlisle. Read below for our favourites.

1. A Day At The Market

18th – 22nd April, Easter International Market, Carlisle City Centre

From Thursday 18th to Monday 22nd April the city centre’s pedestrianised area will be filled with over 30 different stalls and traders for The Easter International Market. This award wining international market returns bringing a host of stalls sure to delight seasoned foodies, craft lovers and green fingers. In amongst the food and craft stalls will be the famous Dutch Flowers on Tour selling a huge selection of shrubs, bulbs, plants and trees. Don’t forget to make a visit to the Continental Street Bar post shopping to try a variety of beers and wines from around the world.

2. Enjoy an Easter Themed Afternoon Tea (with free cocktail)!

4. Hunt For Dragon’s Eggs

6th – 28th April, Birdoswald Roman Fort

Join the hunt for dragon eggs on this legendary family friendly quest this Easter. Crack the clues as you and your family follow the trail through the Roman ruins at Birdoswald. Intrepid adventurers who track down the dragon egg will get a certificate and a sticker to prove it, and there’ll be a chocolate treat too!

5. Support Your Local Music Scene

19th – 21st April, Fisher Street Festival, Carlisle City Centre
